Gogyohshi
above, the old bridge to nowhere
extends from one side to another
with many breaks along the way
it reminds you that it is the journey
and not the destination

mint roots strangling the garden – fragrant cup of tea
Note: Remember a gogyohshi is a free form 5 line poem. Mine is about the header that I have put into place. The NaHaiWriMo prompt for May 1st is “roots.” I used the spring kigo of mint.
Here I was worried the mint I planted last summer would not survive the drought … now it is strangling everything around it and 3 feet away from where it was originally planted … don’t know I can drink that much mint tea!!! 😀 xoxo
Happy to see a post from you … you’ve been missed! 🙂
Many, many thanks. Looking at my last reply to you, I’d say that I need my glasses on.
Becca, tank you so much. It means a lot to me. Ha, funny about your mint. It really is so weeclike.
i agree with the wisdom in this…the journey itself is what is most special…glad to see you back on this journey…smiles…
Amen, sister. 🙂
Lovely haiku and I LOVE the header photo.
It is the journey, because it seems destinations are simply a point, once reached, one can’t stay in it. Thanks for this insightful poem.
