The ceremony of tea and I mean any cultural ceremony has always been one of my greatest pleasures. I love tea pots, the aroma and tastes of teas gathered the world over, taking tea say in China. Today, I can neither smell nor taste. I took this photo moments ago for the prompt.
Non traditional haiku:
warm yak butter not my cup of tea – cricket sings
Traditional haiku:
morning glories fall
into deep green muddy earth
matcha on the ground

LOVE the photo, love tea, and yak butter not my cup of tea either, much as I would LOVE to take tea with a Tibetan family. Loved this, especially the singing cricket! We can really hear the crickets in the evening now, their swan song till next spring likely……
Their “swan-song.” Seasonal change brings so much with it doesn’t it? So many emotions.
I love the way how you have used the prompt tea in two such different haiku. The non-traditional is my favorite, but I can appreciate the traditional haiku too. Well done. Thank you … I shall do so.
It seems we agree on the yak butter. Love the idea of green tea on the ground. Lovely images.
Thank you Kathy.
Kathy I just went to your blog and it said deleted?
The non-traditional seems challenging to me … but you have put it quite smoothly, well done π
I belong to NaHaiWriMo on Facebook … their symbol is somewhat like an international symbol. It is of a sign that says 5-7-5 with a cross hatch through it. So, when I say non-traditional I have sort of grown up in the NO 5-7-5 haiku world. Yak-butter is taken by Tibetans with their tea. Thanks Green Speck.
smiles…love the nature in the second and i am fairly sure i have never tried yak butter….and not sure if i want to…lol…
Brian Yak butter has left some confused, I think. It is taken with tea in Tibet by the populace.
Very beautiful…I loved the traditional haiku π
Thank you Sparkly.
Very nice, my favorite is your traditional haiku, lovely π and I like tea, too
Thanks Loredana.
Big smiles. This is fabulous. I love it.
FYI: absolutely beautiful tray.
Thanks!
I love tea as well … the ritual, the warmth, the smell and the accompaniments …
I am sorry I missed this prompt!! π
I love the entire ritual. Sadly today I can not taste anything.
