Wow what an incredible prompt this is for me coming from M. Bednar at An Imaginary Garden With Real Toads! Thank you so very much! It is truly my favorite place on earth. I would like to move there. But I do not think that this will ever happen.
I just wrote one poem for Mary’s prompt at dVerse so there is not a lot of poem left in me right now. But, if a picture can speak a thousand words, maybe they can be considered poetry. Following are numerous photos from trips over the years to the Outer Banks – and a haiku.
salty summer air
pelicans over water
beaks dipping for fish
Oh, Liz, I have never been to the Outer Banks; but your photographs are just beautiful. Maybe someday I will venture there. Your haiku makes it doubly inviting!
fantastic. let’s have a RT field trip there right now!
Oh it is so much like the west coast here – truly our souls feel joyous when within sight and sound of such magnificence. Glorious haiku and photos………
nice..what part of the OBX were you in?
i love it there…grew up going there and when we go to the beach, we usually go there…smiles.
ah i want to smell it, and hear the waves…
Brian we go to Salvo. We go off season. My husband is hurt today (going on 10 months) so I do not know if we will return. When there however we go all over the Island. I really am happiest there. Thanks!
Really love seeing the photos..especially with this fine verse.
That is a beautiful beach – poetry indeed, and your haiku grasps at the essence of place.
One of my favorites! 😀
I will think of your photos today when I’m out in the cold in hopes that they will warm me up!
Just a note… strangely enough, the outer banks were even covered in ice and snow two days ago.. strange weather we’re having these days.
Wow!
A beauty of clouds and skies I have never seen.. pictures speaks a thousand words
